I thought about those CO2 lasers for a while now, since they are not extremely expensive here in China (maybe around 100 bucks for the whole system I think)

In my opinion, the biggest problem will be the overal rigidity of the machine. My table is extremely sturdy construction, but it still wobbles a tiny bit because of the weight of the gantry whenever it moves fast. I think this will greatly affect the positionning of mirrors, and I’m not sure it will work fine.
I think The whole structure could be rigid enough just by adding 2 wood triangles to each of the 4 corners of the CNC. Then, securing the mirrors on the most rigid way possible.

Maybe I’ll try this later once the plasma cutter will be finished
