So… Looking around the place i realize I have a few high amperage 14v power supplies hanging around. Can I run the cnc off them? I think so based on what I see about the ramps board, but curious if someone has more direct experience… Can I run a 3D printer off them?

I looked and couldn’t find anything solid. I know at 24v you need to remove a diode and power the arduino separately, that is probably the safest option.

I already power the arduino separately and have removed the diode, shortly after I let the smoke out of the regulator a couple weeks ago… 🙂

Seems like I could run it from 14 then if 24 won’t kill anything but the 5v regulator… Hmm…. Now that printer is even easier to justify..
