Here are the first steps of a new IE one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwT9gZzmgUI
Everything is made of ABS, solid SS rods on the frame, and the purpose will be a multi head printer.
Thanks everybody, specially Alted, for making this possible!

Two head printer or more?
If you are doing two head I think the best option is a single direct extruder like I use on everything and 1 bowden extruder mounted as close as possible. 90% of the time you will only be using one color that way you won’t lose much performance, bowden on a second color should work well with a wipe tower or wall.
My 2 cents.June 23, 2016 at 10:58 am #13914
Yes Vicious, i’ll try to use up 8 bownden extruders to make 8 equal pieces at the same time (‘ditto printing’), each with 150mmx150mm bed.
Two or more colors are no-sense, for me.
What do you think?

Vicious, i’«m trying a different approach, more simple. Still thinking how to adjust those heads.
Maybe turns useful for the community!
I’ll give feedback on my trials.
Bye and thanks!!

Wow good idea. separation will dictate part size, adjusting will be tricky unless you leave the head and adjust the print surface. That will be awesome to watch! I can’t wait to see it.June 23, 2016 at 5:01 pm #13950
Yes, thinking in a ‘robust’ aluminium plate adjustable, and, over that, suspended by springs, the heated bed and glass. It’s a dare try witch need one more Arduino comiunicating via serial 1 or 2. Keep all in touch! It’s 8 x 150mmx150mmx120mm. If it works, of course, i’ll open source it 🙂 That’s how civilization grows these times, empowering everybody.June 23, 2016 at 5:05 pm #13951
I think individual bed for each extruder so you can level each bed to the nozzle and hard mount the extruders.June 23, 2016 at 5:23 pm #13952
Cool idea Vicious!!July 5, 2016 at 2:18 pm #14410
Update. Still waiting for material to finalize it. Starting with 4 head.
